Laskarina Bouboulina – was a Greek sailor and an Admiral of the Imperial Russian Navy. She became a heroine of the Greek War of Independence and fought side by side with her husband against pirates of Algiers. After her husband’s death she gained command over the whole fleet and it’s largest warship Agamemnon.

Ingela Hammar – by full name Ingela Olofsdotter Gathenhielm née Hammar. With her husband Lars Gathenhielm she scared all ship captains in the Baltic Sea. She served for the King Charles XII of Sweden, for whom she fought after her husband’s death. Allegedly it was her who was the mastermind behind pirate plans.
